Chase County got hammered with heavy rainfall for the second time in 24 hours. As a result, a county-wide flood warning was originally issued until 11:30 am Sunday but was eventually cut short.
The flood warning was cancelled shortly before 7 am Sunday, however, a separate flood warning remains in effect for southern Greenwood County until 2:30 pm Sunday.
A storm complex brought high wind and heavy rain to most of the county south of US Highway 50 early Saturday morning. A separate, slower-moving cluster dumped more heavy rain on the eastern half of the county late Saturday into early Sunday. Totals are pending, but radar estimates indicated as much as three inches of rain through midnight.
Chase County Dispatch says most of the flooding from Saturday rainfall has now receded. Camp Wood Road; however, is still closed due to the weather once again washing out the road and will need to be completely redone before it will be opened again.
Osage County also received some rainfall Saturday but is not reporting any road closures or damages from the storm.
