The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has released further information regarding a one-vehicle accident near Olpe Sunday.
According to a press release from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a 2011 Dodge Journey driven by 24-year-old Cassondra Jordan of Virgil was northbound on South K99. According to the release, Jordan told authorities she looked down and the vehicle then left the roadway and went into the northbound ditch.
After bringing the vehicle out of the ditch Jordan overcorrected causing the vehicle to overturn in the roadway and come to a rest on its wheels in the southbound ditch. Jordan was examined on scene by Emporia/Lyon County EMS for cuts and scratches but refused further medical treatment. Jordan was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

9 am Sunday: Minor injuries reported following single-vehicle accident on South Kansas Highway 99 Sunday.
One individual escaped serious harm following a one-vehicle accident south of Emporia Sunday morning.
Lyon County EMS and Olpe First Responders were toned out to the report of an injury roll-over accident at Road 30 South Kansas Highway 99, 16.6 miles south of Emporia shortly after 8 am. Details are scarce, however, Lyon County Deputies on scene report there were only minor injuries and no individuals were taken to the hospital.
