Induction week is here for the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
Inductees arrive in Emporia on Monday, with formal activities beginning Tuesday. On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Monday, Teachers Hall of Fame Director Carol Strickland said the schedule includes traditional events and two new offerings.
Wednesday will see the first Wine Cheese Trivia Night at the Lyon County History Center at 8 pm, capping off a day that also includes the inductees coming to KVOE for Talk of Emporia, as well as the annual roundtable at Emporia State’s Visser Hall and the formal welcome dinner at Emporia State’s Sauder Alumni Center.
Thursday features a screening of the documentary “Most Likely to Succeed” and the annual Children’s Concert by the Emporia Municipal Band.
On Friday, there will be the rededication of the National Memorial to Fallen Educators as well as the annual banquet and induction ceremonies at Emporia State’s Memorial Union Webb Hall.
Strickland encouraged area residents to be part of the festivities this week.
