The Emporia Junior Legion baseball team dropped a doubleheader to the Topeka Senators, Monday night, 14-8 and 9-6.
In game one, the Topeka Senators scored seven runs in the fifth inning to break the game open.
In game two, Topeka scored three runs in each of the first two innings…then added a single run in the third and two runs in the fifth.
Junior Legion coach Cory Schovick says he likes what they’re doing offensively, but their defense continues to be an issue.
The Junior Legion returns to action Tuesday night with a doubleheader at Buhler. The Juniors played Buhler, in their tournament last weekend, losing by one run and Coach Schovick says that should give his team confidence going into Tuesday’s doubleheader.
The Senior Legion returns to action Wednesday night when they host Ottawa in a doubleheader at Soden’s Grove.
