The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team is back in action, playing in the Barton County Tournament.
Coach Anthony Markowitz says they’re looking forward to the challenge.
Post 5 opened the tournament Friday morning shutting out the Barn 17’s 8-0. Cade Kohlmeier threw five shutout innings, with five strikeouts, and two hits and an RBI at the plate. Jace Stewart had three RBI’s.
The Senior Legion won their second game of pool play, earlier Friday afternoon, defeating the Wichita Sluggers 9-0. Riley Wagner pitched a complete game shutout and Kadyn Williams had a pair of RBI’s. Post 5 wraps up pool play, on Saturday, at 1:30 pm against Nickerson.
