Heat index readings may be a bit cooler than Friday, however, chances of showers and storms will be lingering through the weekend.
The KVOE listening area has already experienced a burst of heavy rainfall mixed with light thunderstorm activity through early morning Saturday.
At the KVOE studios, we are reporting 0.20 inches of rainfall.
TV-13 Meteorologist Doug Meyers says the best chances for severe weather activity will be between mid-afternoon to early evening Saturday.
Separately, a flash flood warning has been issued for Chase and Greenwood counties from 4 pm Saturday to 1 am Sunday.
After temperatures in the mid to low 90s and heat index readings between 100 and 103 degrees Friday, Saturday will see highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. Temperatures will fluctuate between the high 70’s and mid to high 80’s throughout the upcoming week.
A slight severe weather risk is also in the forecast Sunday with all hazards possible yet again.
