The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team finished in 2nd place at the Barton County Tournament.
Next Level Baseball Academy out scored Post 5 7-4 in the Championship game.
Post 5 scored a run in the top of the 1st. Next Level answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Next Level scored 4 more runs in the 4th inning. Riley Wagner drove in 3 runs for Post 5. Cade Kohlmeier drove in 1 run. It was the first loss of the season for the Emporia AAA Legion baseball team.
In the Semi-final game Emporia shutout the Cannons 6-0 behind the pitching of Hayden Bauwart who held the Cannons scoreless on 9 hits with 4 strikeouts.
Kadyn Williams and Cade Kohlmeier both drove in 2 runs. Jace Stewart and Riley Wagner also drove in a run as part of a 6 run 3rd inning.
The Post 5 Seniors are now 17-1 for the season. The are scheduled to host the Kansas Senators Tuesday night.
The Emporia Jr legion had their games at El Dorado rained out yesterday. Saturday the Jr Legion defeated El Dorado 5-4 and Derby 12-2.
The Post 5 Juniors will play Garnett Monday evening. The doubleheader has been moved from Sodens Grove to the Trusler Sports Complex. First pitch set for 6pm.
