The Cleveland Indians held on for a 5-3 win over the Kansas City Royals Wednesday afternoon.
The Royals tried to rally in the 9th scoring 2 runs, one on a Lucas Duda solo home run. The Royals scored the 3 runs on 8 hits and struck out 16 times.
At the halfway mark of the season the Royals are 28-53.
The Royals will be off Thursday and begin a 4 game series in Toronto Friday.
The Royals have reinstated Pitcher Eric Skoglund from his suspension and optioned him to Omaha. To make room on the 40 man roster, Pitcher Brad Boxberger has been designated for assignment. Pitcher Tim Hill was recalled from Omaha.
Voting for the All-Star game starters is underway. Royals Hunter Dozier is among the finalist to start at 3rd base. Voting wraps up Thursday afternoon.
