Runners will be lining up Saturday to honor the memory of a beloved Emporia Middle School student gone too soon.
On Saturday the inaugural Ace It Up 5k will take place in the north parking lot of Emporia High School. All proceeds from the 5k will benefit the family of seventh-grader Ace Garate. Garate sadly passed away on May 15th at the age of 13 following a car accident near Branson, MO.
Garate’s wrestling coach Shawn Russell is excited for the amount of support the fundraiser has received.
Registration for the race will be from 6-7 am with the race beginning at 7:30. There will be a suggested donation of $25.
