Basement repair crews have been extremely busy since late April and early May.
Nearly 30 inches of rain in two months will do that.
The KVOE studios picked up 20.1 inches of rain from late April through May as well as another 8.15 inches so far in June. Plumbing by Spellman’s Lenny Spellman says repair calls came in hot and heavy last month.
The phone line has been less active with this round of flooding, but Spellman also says some basements that didn’t have flooding issues before late April and early May flooded over the past six to seven weeks.
Spellman says crews have installed a lot of backwater valves, repaired or replaced water heaters and installed “tons and tons” of sump pumps and pump pits since early May.
