Investigations continue into three business burglaries — two dating back six weeks and another dating back over three months.
Police Capt. Dave DeVries tells KVOE News some property has been recovered as the investigation continues into the Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal burglary May 16 and the TP Jewelry and Pawn burglary May 9. Some possible connections have also developed to similar incidents in Pittsburg and Joplin, Missouri. Suspects have been identified but that information is not currently being released.
Meanwhile, investigators have found no local leads with the NexTech Wireless burglary in mid-March, where over $50,000 in cell phones were stolen. The Emporia burglary took place at the same time other cell phone stores were burglarized in Kansas and Missouri, and there is still a possibility the local burglary may be connected to that two-state string of burglaries late this winter.
If you have information on these cases, call Emporia Police at 343-4200. The TP Jewelry and Pawn burglary has a Lyon County Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000, so you can also call 342-2273, use www.p3tips.com or use the P3Tips mobile app to submit information.
