One person was taken by ambulance to an area hospital after a crash involving a farm tractor and a pickup.
The wreck happened shortly before 9:30 pm Sunday on US Highway 75 less than half-a-mile north of New Strawn. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the pickup driver, 45-year-old Carlos Angulo-Corrales of Topeka, tried to pass the tractor in the southbound lane. Both Angulo-Corrales and the tractor’s driver, 47-year-old Dawn Schroeder of Angelton, Texas, took evasive action, but the tractor still hit the truck — which went into a ditch and rolled.
One of four passengers in the truck, 79-year-old Angelina Angulo-Corrales of Topeka, was taken to Coffey County Hospital in Burlington with possible injuries. No one else in the wreck, including the two people in the tractor, were hurt.
