The Emporia hosted MAYB tournament wrapped up Sunday.
The lone Emporia team to win a championship was Team Gutierrez in the girls 7th and 8th grade division. They defeated Nebraska Heartland 32-23 in the championship.
Emporia Gutierrez Black finished in 3rd place in the girls 7th and 8th grade division.
Madison won the boys 11th and 12th grade division. Madison out scored the Redhawks 44-30 in the Championship game. Team Emporia finished in 3rd place.
In the boys 9th and 10th grade division Emporia finished in 4th place. Kansas Classics won the championship.
In the boys 7th and 8th grade division Emporia 8th graders finished in 5th place after defeating the Emporia 7th graders 99-98 in the 5th place game. The Ballerz won the championship.
In the high school girls division Emporia finished in 6th place with the Kansas Hornets finishing in 1st place.
In the girls 5th and 6th grade division team Emporia finished in 4th place. Nebraska Heartland 6th grade team won the championship.
Kansas Defenders won the boys 5th and 6th grade division.
Emporia High boys basketball coach Beau Welch says it has been a mix summer.
One of the highlights this summer has been the Oklahoma State team camp. The Emporia High boys varsity finished with a 7-2 record.
Emporia will host another MAYB tournament July 12th-13th and 14th.
