Residents are welcomed to kick off their 4th of July holiday with an Emporia Super Series Event the “All-American Mile”.
The All-American Mile is a fundraising event with all proceeds going towards the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. The foundation provides $35,000 scholarships to children of fallen Marines and law enforcement officers. Since 1995, the foundation has granted over 76 million scholarship dollars.
The race is set to begin on the Emporia State campus, in the circle drive outside of Plumb Hall. Registration begins at 6:30 am and the race is set to start at 7:30 am. All-American Mile coordinator Asher Delmott says there will be several prizes awarded by the event.
