As expected, flooding has returned to the Neosho Rapids area.
The Neosho River went into flood shortly before noon after heavy rainfall areawide last week. The latest reading has the Neosho at 22.1 feet, above flood stage of 22. The river should crest at 22.8 feet early Tuesday and go below flood stage Tuesday afternoon.
Flooding continues along the Cottonwood at Emporia. The river is at 23.52 feet, above flood stage of 20. It could crest at 23.7 feet before sunset and go below flood stage Tuesday.
As flooding continues to push to the southeast, Lyon County’s road closure list is expanding:

*Road A from 155 to US Highway 50
*Road E north of 145
*Road G from 40 to 50; north of 140; south of 160; from 160 to 180
*Road G5 south of 160
*Road H north of 140; from 160 to 170
*Road J from 140 to 150; from 190 to 210
*Road K from 140 to 155
*Road M from 140 to 150
*Road S from 150 to 160
