Our fifth round of flooding has come to an end with area gauges falling below flood stage Tuesday despite rainfall from Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
The Cottonwood River at Emporia went below the 20-foot flood stage before 7 am and is now under at 15.14 feet.
A flood warning has also been canceled for the Neosho River at Neosho Rapids as the river has dropped below the 22-foot flood stage and is currently at 21.79 feet.
Rain totals were spotty after one batch of storms Monday night and another shortly before sunrise Tuesday. All told, the KVOE studios got 0.80 inches of rain, while far west Emporia had 0.10 inches and Allen reported 0.40 inches.
There are still over 20 Lyon County road segments and intersections are closed because of this round of flooding:
*Road 150 from E to F; J to K-5; west of M; from N to P; east of P
*Road 155 west of Highway 99
*Road 160 from G to J
*Road 215 from Road H5 to J5
*Road A from 155 to US Highway 50
*Road E north of 145
*Road G from 40 to 50; north of 140; south of 160; from 160 to 180
*Road G5 south of 160
*Road H north of 140; from 160 to 170
*Road J from 140 to 150; from 190 to 210
*Road K from 140 to 155
*Road M from 140 to 150
*Road S from 150 to 160
