The American Legion Zone 5 and 6 Tournament will be played in Emporia beginning Saturday.
Emporia Post 5 will be the host. The Post 5 Juniors take a 12-15 record into the tournament. Coach Cory Shovick says if they stay aggresive they have a shot at advancing to state.
Vance Kinsey says they cannot take anyone for granted.
Post 5 opens against Garnett with first pitch set for 11am.
The winner will play Topeka at 3pm.
The other first round game has Chanute playing Ottawa at 1pm. The winner of that game will play Iola at 5pm.
The tournament will wrap up Monday with the Championship games.
The top 2 teams advance to the A American Legion State Tournament.
