Saturday was filled with music, games, and barbecue during the Olpe Downhome Days.
To start the day residents picked up breakfast at the United Methodist Church before taking part in games, races, contests and much more.
During the evening the town came together to eat at the fire departments barbecue fundraiser with proceeds going towards buying a thermal imaging camera, according to Fir Chief Wade Schmidt.
Schmidt also states what Downhome days mean to him.
Later a children’s raffle was held that lead to more games for kids.
Afterward, there was a tribute to veterans to honor those who have and are serving. Recent honor flight members got to speak about their experience while the songs of each individual military branch were played.
The day ended with the final raffle and street dance.
