The Emporia Recreation Commission will have a busy evening Monday night.
This is the night where the Rec Commission has three separate but related meetings. The board will start with its annual “closing of the books” meeting at 5:30 pm. That will be followed by the annual budget review and interpretation meeting.
The regular monthly meeting is third on the list. The 2019-2020 budget will likely be approved, pending final action by the Emporia City Commission and USD 253 Board of Education. In addition, board members will discuss water runoff issues at the DeBauge Family Sports Complex after several bouts of flooding this year. Agreements with the city of Emporia will be discussed and there will be a report on upgrading the controls for the Lee Beran Recreation Center’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning units.
Leadership team updates will also be presented and Wellness Supervisor Barb Rourk will also discuss her upcoming retirement.
All meetings will be at the Rec Center.
