Planning matters will highlight two meetings in Emporia on Tuesday.
The Emporia-Lyon County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 5:30 pm to hear two requests. Clarine Hibler has asked for a variance for a prohibited home occupation at 1029 West. Hibler is asking for permission to have a single-chair beauty salon inside a single-family residence.
Also, John Paul Sandstrom and Francis Springeman are requesting a variance in required lot size square footage in an R-1 low-density residential district. The application involves a preliminary and final plat application for 1221 West Seventh.
Following the Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has its monthly meeting with four requests.
First Baptist Church is asking for rezoning at 807 Commercial from R-3 Multi-Family Residential to C-4 Central Business District. Also, David and Angie Bolz are asking for an easement vacation in the so-called Zirnstein Addition.
BMAC Enterprises will also present its applications for preliminary and final plats at 1221 West Seventh.
Both meetings will be held in White Auditorium City Conference Room 1 AB.
