Oppressive heat is building across the KVOE listening area for the next few days.
An excessive heat warning now starts at 1 pm areawide and continues through early Saturday evening. Air temperatures will approach 100 all four days, with humidity levels pushing heat index readings as high as 108.
As the heat develops, drink lots of water, wear light, loose-fitting clothing and take frequent breaks. Also, make sure to check on young, old and pets alike to make sure they aren’t suffering any form of heat stress like excessive or no sweating, headache, dizziness, nausea or confusion. If you can, adjust your daily routine by spending as much time in air conditioning as you can and handle more strenuous activities in the morning or evening.
We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
