With the hot weather there are precautions one needs to take to keep from over heating, especially if you are conditioning for a coming season.
Emporia High Track Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach Randy Wells says there is one big key to staying healthy.
Emporia State Head Athletic Trainer Matt Falor says there are symptoms to be aware of to avoid serious health issues.
Coach Wells says they recommend to their athletes to start hydrating early.
Matt Falor says if you do get over heated find someplace cool.
Another key step is weight yourself before and after workouts so you know how much fluid you need to replace.
Falor also said if possible avoid the heat of the day to do your workout. Workout in the early moring or in the evening.
