Severe thunderstorm activity appears to be dying off in the KVOE listening area leading to the cancellation of a severe thunderstorm watch meant to last through the remainder of Sunday.
The severe thunderstorm watch for Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Morris and Osage counties has been cancelled. A watch remains in effect for Greenwood County until midnight.
All excessive heat warnings in place since Wednesday has been cancelled. Air temperatures were in the upper 90s Wednesday through Saturday with heat index readings as high as 109 during the heat wave.
