The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team is one win away from advancing to State. The Post 5 Seniors rallied for a 5-4 win over Pittsburg in the zone tournament semi-final Sunday.
Pittsburg had taken a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the 6th, scoring 3 runs. Post 5 answered 3 runs in the top of the 7th. Beau Baumgardner drove in a run with a single and Riley Wagner drove in 2 runs with a single. Baumgardner also drove in a run with a single in the 3rd inning and a sacrifice fly in the 5th.
Jace Stewart was the winning pitcher recording the final 4 outs of the game.
Post 5 will play in Championship game at 1pm. With an if necessary game scheduled follow.
The Zone 2 Champion advances to the AAA/AA State Tournament to be played at Hays.
