The Emporia Energy finished in 4th place at the USA Softball 18B Northern National tournament. The Energy finished the tournament with a 2-3 record.
The Energy began Saturday with a 3-2 win over the Lawrence Inferno. They were eliminated from the tournament by the G2 Heat Henderson out of Salina 11-6. Assistant Coach Justin Gilpin was pleased with the way they competed.
Coach Gilpin said they took big strides during the season.
The Energy finished their season with a 15-10 and 1 record.
The Energy avoided elimination with a 3-2 win over the Lawrence Inferno. They next play the G2 Heat Henderson, out of Salina.
In Fridays first game in bracket play the Energy were out scored by RC Voltage, a team out of McPherson, 8-7.
The Energy finished day 1 with a 1-2 record. Assistant Coach Justin Gilpin said the encouraging part about Friday was they kept competing.
The Inferno were out scored by the Colorado Cougars 7-5 in the first round of bracket play.
The Cougars also defeated the Heat 11-9 to move into the Championship semi-final. They will play RC Voltage at 10:30.
In Pool play the Energy were defeated by the Heat 6-3 and out scored the Inferno 6-5.
