The Emporia Police Benefit Association held the “Disc Golf Scramble” event Saturday morning.
Local Emporia Policemen played host to a scramble style disc golf tournament at Hammond Park. The event worked as a fundraiser with all proceeds benefitting the three special Olympics teams of Lyon County.
With holding a free clinic at 9 am and play beginning at 10 am, various groups of community members and police officers played throughout the morning. And some officers were even on the grill as they prepared lunch for those who participated. The event included several rounds of play as the greater Lyon county Community came together for a greater good.
Local Program Coordinator and coach of the Emporia Express Nancy Rumold speaks more with KVOE expressing her gratitude of the community
