A beautiful morning provided the perfect workout setting at Peter Pan Park for the fifth annual Healthier Lyon County Park Crawl Saturday.
Emporia and area residents convened at the park for a series of exercises which included Zumba, swat team fitness, a boot camp and cardio kickboxing. Suzanne Worthen-Miller was attending the event for her third year.
She says besides the physical activity she enjoys the social interaction with other like-minded individuals.
Emporia High School assistant wrestling coach Shawn Russell took part in his first Park Crawl Saturday.
Russell didn’t attend the event alone as he explains physical fitness is a family activity.
On top of the sunshine and fitness, several prizes were given out as well during the Park Crawl. Several local organizations helped provide the activities Saturday morning including E/247 Fitness, Emporia Fitness, Genesis Health Club, the Emporia Recreation Center and more.
The Park Crawl is a part of the Emporia Recreation Center’s super series.
