One of the Kansas Children’s Service League’s signature programs is expanding.
Healthy Families is well-established in Lyon, Chase and Greenwood counties, and as of July 1 it now up and running in Coffey County. On a recent KVOE Talk of Emporia, Lisa Harder said the program is already receiving referrals and starting the process of helping families in Coffey County.
That is done through a variety of measures, according to local director Bev Long.
Staff will also offer assistance so parents can go to places like grocery stores, medical appointments or pharmacies if needed, and KCSL encourages parents to take all steps needed to take care of both their physical and mental health.
Long and Harder also announced a change for the upcoming Red Stocking Breakfast. The event Dec. 7 will be at the Clarion Inn after being at Pizza Ranch the last seven years.
