Both drivers involved in Monday’s injury crash just west of downtown Emporia were cited afterward.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says a pickup driver, 45-year-old Isaias Rodriguez Jr of Emporia, was cited for failing to yield at a stop sign and having an illegal tag. The motorcycle driver, 20-year-old Henry Gomez of Emporia, was cited for not having a motorcycle license.
The pickup and motorcycle collided at Sixth and State just before 11 am. Sage says Rodriguez was northbound on State and turned west onto Sixth Avenue. Gomez, who was eastbound on Sixth, then hit the Rodriguez truck. Gomez suffered a leg injury and other possible injuries, so he was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment. Rodriguez was not hurt.
