Fans of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy had to wait three months for the band to perform in Emporia after illness forced the group to reschedule its appearance. The band did not disappoint Wednesday night.
The band entertained a sold-out Granada Theatre to cap off the Emporia Arts Center’s 2018-2019 Performing Arts Series. It was originally supposed to perform in late April before lead singer Scotty Morris came down with an illness.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy started 26 years ago and plays a high-energy mix of swing, jazz and Dixieland. It is currently on tour through the end of the year.
The Arts Center, meanwhile, is now planning for the upcoming performance of Straight No Chaser on Nov. 6. For more information, call the Arts Center at 343-6473 or go online to www.emporiaksarts.org.
