The due date for applications to become a Lyon County Extension Master Gardener is quickly growing closer.
After Aug. 9 Lyon County Extension will no longer accept applications. Those who apply or have already applied before the due date will receive a letter with information regarding the orientation session and interview.
After the orientation and interview participants will be selected to go through training. Sessions are held every Thursday for 12 weeks rotating between Newton, Emporia, Hutchinson, El Dorado, Haysville, and Hesston.
After the 40 hours of training, the trainee will have to complete 40 hours of volunteer service within one year.
