Flint Hills Community Health Center is marking National Health Center Week with several activities, especially early in the week.
Health Center Week goes from Sunday to Aug. 10. The Health Center will have a special event for World Breastfeeding Week on Monday as it gives out nursing bras from 3-5 pm at the Health Center. Also on Monday is a Healthcare for the Homeless food drive so the Health Center can stock its blessing box for people in need. It is also hosting a free orientation session for potential daycare providers starting at 6 pm Tuesday.
On KVOE’s Morning Show recently, Communication Director Verlin Conkle said there is a wide range of services in Emporia and Eureka.
Besides WIC and environmental health, the Health Center handles immunizations, physicals, screenings, dental services, psychiatric care and women’s health services. It also serves as a Navigator point for the federal health insurance marketplace.
