Two individuals escaped serious injury after a one-vehicle accident in the 2200 block of West 24th Avenue Sunday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 9:15 Sunday evening. According to Emporia Police Officer Sinjin Andrews a mid 2000’s Chevy Cobalt was traveling along westbound and “slipped off the side of the road” where it came to a rest on its side in a wooded ditch.
Andrews tells KVOE News two occupants were inside the vehicle, the passenger was treated for minor injuries on scene but was not transported. The driver was cited for careless driving. The names of the driver and passenger have not been released.
