History will come alive at the Admire Community Center Saturday.
The inaugural Historical Performance Showcase Festival will be taking place from 9 am to 9 pm. Visitors will have the chance to meet notable figures of the past up close and personal as they are portrayed by historical performers such as organizer Kitty Frank.
Frank joined KVOE’s Morning Show Friday to discuss the upcoming event. She says the day will be split into two different sections with a series of workshops starting at 9 am with “Have History, Will Travel.”
Once the afternoon rolls around, performers will dawn their historic characters with a series of performances during which time the performers will tell their stories in 30-minute segments. Following their performances, the performers will then hold a Q and A session both in and out of character with those in attendance.
The festival is free and open to the public. Food will be available at a cost. For more information visit www.historicperfromance.com.
