People went down to the Howe House on Saturday to time travel back to the 1860s with the Howe House Griffins and the Topeka Westerners to play some vintage baseball.
Vintage baseball uses the rules baseball had back in the 1860s like being able to catch the ball off the first bounce to get an out, the pitcher can choose to throw overhand or underhand, and the batter can tell the pitcher to throw high, low, or regular just to name a few.
Howe House Griffin Austin “Powerbunt” Anderson talks about what it’s like playing with these rules.
Vintage baseball has given many players some great experiences. Amongst those players is Shawn “Ponyboy” Wilson who recounts one of his favorite experiences with the sport.
