A motorcycle rider escaped serious injury after being forced to lay his bike down in west Emporia Friday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the 1600 block of Industrial Road for an injury accident shortly before 6:30 pm. Emporia Police Officer JT Klaurens tells KVOE News one individual was riding a motorcycle on Industrial Road in front of the Flint Hills Mall when an SUV pulled out in front of him.
Klaurens says upon seeing the vehicle coming, the motorcyclist laid down his motorcycle. The rider suffered minor scrapes to his arms but did not require medical transport. Klaurens says the rider did a “tremendous job lying it down like you’re supposed to.”
The drivers of the SUV were not heard. The motorcycle had to be towed from the scene of the accident. Further details are pending.
