Once again the United Way of the Flinthills is gearing up for its annual fundraising campaign.
The campaign officially begins Thursday evening with the kickoff party at the Lyon County History Center. Each year the United Way raises hundreds of thousands of dollars which benefit numerous agencies throughout Lyon and surrounding counties including Woodson County.
This year’s campaign theme is “live local, give local” and according to United Way Director Jami Reever that is the whole plan for the campaign. She says when you give to the United Way “your money stays here.”
KVOE Station manager and United Way Drive Chair Ron Thomas agrees with Reever and says all money donated goes exactly where it is meant to go.
The kickoff will take place from 5 to 7 pm Thursday evening on the third floor of the history center. For more information about United Way or the United Way campaign visit www.Unitedwayoftheflinthills.org.
