Proceedings have been continued until next month in the case of a man accused of sexual activity with a minor.
Lucio Meza-Oliva saw his case continued to Sept. 3 during a preliminary hearing in Lyon County District Court Monday afternoon. Meza-Oliva is accused of single counts of indecent solicitation, indecent liberties and aggravated witness intimidation for alleged acts against a 16-year-old child. Case details have not been announced with the affidavit currently sealed.
Monday’s hearing was first scheduled for mid-July, but that was delayed because the alleged victim is out of the country. Defense attorney James Bordonaro asked the court to dismiss the case, saying prosecutors have not shown sufficient good cause with the alleged victim not available last month.
Monday’s delay was approved after Meza-Oliva changed attorneys. Paul Dean is now representing Meza-Oliva.
