(espn/ap) The Kansas City Chiefs lost backup quarterback Chad Henne to a broken ankle that will require surgery, and they quickly signed veteran Matt Moore on Monday to provide depth behind starter Patrick Mahomes.
Henne suffered the injury in Saturdays game against San Francisco.
Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder said receiver Marcus Kemp will have surgery Tuesday in Dallas for the torn ACL and MCL he sustained against Pittsburgh. Kemp also had a meniscus injury.
Defensive end Breeland Speaks will have surgery Tuesday in Houston after spraining the MCL and damaging the meniscus in his right knee against the Steelers.
The Chiefs play their final preseason game Thursday at Green Bay.
