After receiving almost $300,000 in grants as announced by Governor Laura Kelly last week, SOS is receiving more grant money — this time from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.
The Attorney General’s Office has announced around $125,000 in total grant funds to be spread out in four categories:
*Over $16,000 will be used to recruit, screen, train and supervise Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers
*Almost $45,000 will go to provide supervised visitation and monitored exchange services
*Over $23,000 will be used to fund a children’s advocate position
*Almost $45,000 will increase public awareness of SOS services
The awards to SOS are part of better than $2.5 million in grants to local and state crime victim assistance organizations through the Attorney General’s Office.
