The Kansas City Royals fell to the Oakland A’s 9-8 Thursday afternoon.
Jorge Soler hit a 2 run home run in the 1st inning, giving the Royals a 2-1 lead. It was his 37 home run of the season leaving him 1 shy of the team record.
Oakland then built a 7-2 lead and the Royals never did catch up.
The Royals did strand the tying and go ahead runs in the 8th and the tying run the 9th.
The Royals begin a 3 game series with Baltimore Friday night.
Eric Skoglund will be the starting pitcher for the Royals with first pitch at 7:15p.
