A fourth person has died after a fire in Burlington earlier this month.
The Coffey County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Richard Powell died early Thursday due to injuries he sustained in a fire at 216 Hudson on Aug. 16. Powell had escaped the fire with apparently significant injuries, according to KVOE’s television partner WIBW in Topeka, and was airlifted to an unspecified hospital for treatment.
Jennifer Rose-Pope, age 27, and her two children, 6-year-old Hope Garrett and 5-year-old Faith Garrett, were killed in the fire.
The investigation continues. Additional information will be released once the process has finished.
