The Twin Lakes Water Festival is taking place Thursday.
Over 300 fourth-grade students from Lyon and several surrounding counties will head to the Council Grove Reservoir to take part in curriculum-based activities in several categories, including water and natural resource conservation, changing environmental attitudes, water and technology, water protection, biology and water safety.
Numerous information stations are part of the event, with presenting groups including the US Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bureau of Water, Kansas Water Office, Lyon County Conservation District and Lyon County Master Gardeners among others.
