The Emporia State football team kicks-off the 2019 season when they host Northeastern State.
The Hornets were preseason picked 6th and Northeastern State 11th in the MIAA preseason polls.
Emporia State Coach Garin Higgins wants his team to play with enthusiasm.
Emporia State will begin to answer the questions about the offense with so many key new players. Senior offensive lineman Austin Unterreiner is not worried.
The defense returns 10 starters from last years team and Senior Roscoe Gatewood says its a family.
Kick-off at Welch Stadium is set for 7pm.
