Hetlinger Developmental Services staff and clients spent their afternoon riding bikes and playing disc golf during Hetlinger’s second annual field day on Friday.
The activities had clients trying new things this year. This is the case for client Julie Anbrose who says she loved the bikes.
The event benefits the clients in many different ways including exercise, opportunities for new experiences, and becoming a team. Hetlinger staff member Jade Longfellow explains a little more on what the benefits entail.
Students from Emporia State University’s Communication and Event Planning class led by Keena Reeves came to help with the event along with Team Schnak and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department. The class is partnered with Kent Schnakenberg to help the students get involved with service projects across the community.
