Over 100 county officials from across northeast Kansas are spending time in Emporia on Friday.
County officials from all disciplines and departments are in town for the Northeast Kansas County Officials meeting. County Clerk Tammy Vopat calls this a good time to network for all involved.
With 17 counties involved, this is the first time in at least 15 years Lyon County has hosted the meeting.
The Granada Theatre is serving as the hub of activities, including breakout sessions and department-specific meetings. There will also be tours of different locations downtown, including the Lyon County History Center, Emporia Main Street office and other locations.
