The Emporia Granada Theatre has a new leader.
Assistant Director Rebeca Herrera is now serving as acting director following the resignation of Aden Lindholm less than a year after Lindholm succeeded Bryan Williams. On KVOE’s Newsmaker 3 segment Wednesday, Herrera said she was excited to lead the theater.
Herrera may be appointed as permanent director after a 90-day interim period.
Lindholm has issued a statement, saying, “The Granada Theatre and I decided to move in different directions. It has been an absolute privilege to work at such a beautiful theater and with such a wonderful community. This move is best for my career moving forward and I believe at the same time best for the theater.”
In separate Granada news, the theater has announced a big Christmas show Dec. 14. Board President Sonia Hodges made the announcement:
Clark Carpet and Tile is sponsoring the concert. Tickets will range from $35 to $95 and will be available to the general public starting Monday.
The Granada is also gearing up for the Jack Mouse and Janice Borla concert Oct. 11 and the nearly-sold-out All Veterans Tribute show featuring Lee Greenwood and Crystal Gayle. For more information on upcoming events, call the Granada at 342-3342 or go online to www.emporiagranada.com.
