A two-vehicle accident led to a minor disruption of traffic in west Emporia Thursday afternoon.
Emergency responders were called out for a reported injury accident at the intersection of 12th Ave. and Industrial Road. According to Emporia Police Officer Gabe Withington, a 2001 Ford Contour was traveling westbound on 12th and was preparing to turn into the ESB Financial parking lot.
Withington says another vehicle in the turning lane waved the Contour through and as it was turning into the lot an eastbound 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van struck the contour on the passenger side. All individuals were examined by EMS on the scene but did not require medical transport.
Withington says the driver of the Contour was cited for failure to yield. Traffic was blocked in the eastbound lane for roughly 30 minutes while a tow truck removed the Contour from the scene.
