Sentencing is tentatively on the docket Monday for a one-time Chase County Jail employee who reached a plea agreement earlier this year in an illegal sexual contact case.
Maudi McCorgary is set for sentencing at 1:30 pm in Cottonwood Falls.
Originally, McCorgary was charged with unlawful sexual relations with an inmate and trafficking contraband into the Chase County Jail after an investigation determined over 300 phone calls between McCorgary and a Sedgwick County inmate, with some indicating sexual contact and others indicating contraband like vodka, tobacco, and methamphetamine being brought into the jail.
In July, McCorgary pleaded no contest to one count of attempted unlawful sexual activity. Other charges were dropped.
McCorgary was part of the jail staff from August 2018 to early February. She was arrested in May.
