Flint Hills Technical College was busy for its annual Merit Badge University on Saturday.
Over 160 Scouts from several states attended. Troop 157 Scoutmaster Leon Bryson says merit badges can give Scouts an inside track to their future careers.
Bryson also tells KVOE News the local merit badge event is popular because it offers information on some unique merit badges, including emergency preparedness, digital technology and journalism.
All proceeds from the event go to a scholarship for Scouts at the tech college.
